Honey Garlic and Buffalo Wings

I know that this has absolutely nothing to do with scrapbooking or cardmaking, but cooking is truly a passion of mine. My husband is the BBQer and usually the main course maker- I tend to overcook meat [I blame my Mom for that and she knows it].

Anyway, this past Saturday, we decided to have a movie marathon, so we wanted to have snacky goodnesses to go along with the movies. Francis BBQ up some ribs which were amazing by the way. I made some wings, Buffalo and Honey Garlic. I also paired homemade blue cheese dip with celery and carrot sticks- gotta get in those veggies!!!!

I decided to share with you all the recipes of the wings because they were so amazing. Literally. I'm a huge wing fan, and these wings were great. They took awhile to prepare, but that just adds to the whole experience.

I took off the skin on all the wings since we don't deep fry them. I can't stand soggy skin and I find that when you bake wings, the skin will be soggy. Plus, wings aren't the, well, healthiest food, so by removing the skin you can reduce a few calories. ;) I also leave the tips on because they are the best part of the wing IMO because of how they burn. I think this also goes back to my Mom here and how she would overcook everything.

F&H's Honey Garlic Wings

  • 3 green onions, choppe

  • Marinate:

  • 1/4 tsp of powder garlic
  • 1/4 tsp of onion powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp of ginger

  • Glaze:
  • 1/2 cup of honey
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • 1/4 tsp of powder garlic
  • 1/4 tsp of onion powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp of ginger

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400.
  2. Line a baking sheet with tin foil.
  3. Remove the skin from the wings then marinate the wings in the marinate for at least 1 hour.
  4. Once done marinating, pour the marinate and the wings onto the foil lined sheet. Bake at 400 for 40 minutes or until no longer pink.
  5. About 10 minutes prior to wings being done, combine the ingredients of the glaze in a pot. Simmer until boils, then remove from heat, allowing the glaze to cool.
  6. When wings are done, add them to the pot with the glaze in it. Add the 3 chopped green onions. Coat. Pour into a serving dish and enjoy.

Prepare for yummy goodness. :)
